SEVENTEEN YEARS IN THE MAKING The Bot Colony concept was unveiled at GDC in March 2009, and the game was released to Early Access in 2014, ahead of its time; the tech just wasn’t ready for the vision we had. We never stopped chasing it. Now, in 2026, Bot Colony _Redux finally delivers on the dream: a futuristic sci-fi narrative you play using unrestricted speech, talking to nuanced characters who respond with intelligence, humour, and emotion. This game has something for fans of many genres, and gives players the freedom to shape the story with their own words - every playthrough is unique! This isn’t “press X to select an answer.” This is actual conversation with no limits on what you can say as you play. We’ve integrated cutting-edge AI and voice tech (Azure STT, ChatGPT, Elevenlabs’ emotive TTS) into North Side's state-of-the-art natural language understanding (NLU) to create next-level immersion.
