Story
The pay was fine. The building was ordinary. The previous guy left without taking his things, but people leave jobs all the time. Five cameras. One monitor. One notebook, half-filled by someone else's handwriting. Your job is simple: watch the feeds, answer the intercom, keep the building running. Most of the night is quiet. Most of it. WATCH CLOSELY Something will be wrong on a camera. A shape where there shouldn't be one. A door that was closed a minute ago. A resident who mentions a noise — and a noise that mentions something else entirely. The building's own systems will tell you everything is fine, right up until it isn't. Sound isn't always the truth. The intercom isn't always right. The only thing you can really trust is what you see with your own eyes — and even that gets harder to trust as the nights go on.
