About This Game Note to the next one. Found in the cockpit. Left where it was. You got yourself a good ship. Maybe even better than good. Actually, you get two to choose from. That’s the only good news, so read it again. Don’t expect any more. First. The gun fires on its own. There’s no trigger, nothing to aim with, and no reason to. It locks onto the nearest N’Ghar and stays on it until the bastard dies. A smart person will immediately ask what happens when the closest target isn’t the one you need. You’re a smart person, right? There’s only one answer: fly so the one you need becomes the closest. I haven’t found another way in 192 sorties. Second. These aliens have a schedule. Can you believe that? For a minute and a half, they just keep coming. Thicker and thicker. More and more of them. Then the senior one shows up — N’Ghar shift supervisor, I suppose — and the shockwave from its hyperspace arrival clears the field. Then everything goes quiet. The worst kind of quiet you’ve ever heard, because now there are only two of you. You have two minutes to kill it. Fail, and it leaves on its own, alive and perfectly pleased with itself, while you get nothing. So far,...
