Story
NIGHTWARD is a first-person horror game set in Sislidere, a town in a valley where the fog never quite lifts. For twelve years your mother went out every night and never said where. A month after she died, your phone rings at night: the caller is the Nightward Regional Hospital , closed since 1995. In her coat you find a list, her car keys and a visitor's card for the east ward. On the back, in her handwriting: “04:05. Don't be late.” Her route is on the back page of her notebook. You drive it in her car, one sealed building at a time. The hospital was evacuated in a single night. Something tall walks the east ward now. Hold it in your torch and it stands perfectly still. Look away, blink, turn a corner – and it is closer. Drive between the places in her car, in the rain, with her phone ringing on the passenger seat. Answer it, and someone from the last place speaks. Finish what each place told you in her notebook. Every right answer puts a line on a timeline that runs back to 1981. Her hand-drawn map of Sislidere – and the one place she never drew a road to.
