Galdr Inkblade
Launches 13 October 2026 · PC · Casual, Indie, Strategy

A word game roguelite deckbuilder where your vocabulary is your weapon. Spell your attacks off a table of nine letters. Build your deck, collect rare letter cards, find hidden words (Galðr) that can turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Story
Galðr (Old Norse) — A SPELL THAT ONLY WORKS IF YOU SAY IT LOUD. The word comes from gala : to crow, to sing, to chant. The same Germanic root still sits inside nightingale , the night-singer. In the sagas a galdr isn't a gesture, or a potion, or a rune scratched in the dirt. It's something you speak, and the speaking is the whole of the magic. No wand. No components. The word did the work. That's the game. Nine letters on the table. Spell something. The word is not what triggers the weapon — the word is the weapon. THE TABLE BELONGS TO BOTH OF YOU Those nine tiles aren't your hand. They're the board, and the creature opposite is reading them too. It tells you what it means to spell and which letters it needs — so every turn you're choosing between the word you want and the word it can't afford to lose. Take its letters and watch the number over its head come down. It will find something else. It will find something worse. LONG WORDS HIT HARDEST. REPEATED WORDS DON'T HIT AT ALL. Three letters is a scratch. Nine is three and a half times the damage and a name the fight remembers. But the table only gives back four tiles a turn, so emptying it is a two-turn promise...
